At GRACE Advocacy Program, our mission is to improve the lives of the unhoused community in Gainesville. We do this by providing services & support to GRACE Marketplace, Alachua county's largest homeless shelter.
GAP aims to provide GRACE Marketplace with sustained, reliable volunteering from the UF student body.
We firmly believe that everyone deserves access to basic necessities such as food, shelter, and healthcare.
We aim to create a sustained, reliable volunteering base. From serving meals, helping with donation drives, or assisting in the free clothing closet, we have something for everyone to participate in - no matter your schedule.
GAP offers a unique volunteering opportunity for previously-active members to discuss health related topics and assist with connecting guests to applicable social & medical resources. This opportunity requires an application.
In order to make a difference in Gainesville that will outlast our time here, we plan to work with local government officers and advocate for the various needs of GRACE Marketplace, including infrastructure and funding.
We pride ourselves on being named the UF Student Activities and Involvement's "Greater Good Organization of the Year" and having a partnership with the UF Brown Center for Service and Leadership.
